Movie update!
I realized that I didn't talk about the movie experience last week, which was Iron Man:
Well, to start, I wasn't even excited to watch this movie. Because I had very BLAND memories of Iron Man. Yes, I actually watched a couple of episodes of it before, when Marvel Action Hour was still around, in which they'd show Iron Man and Fantastic Four back to back, complete with a commentary by Stan Lee in between.
I always skipped Iron Man and only watched Fantastic Four...
But then, I finally saw the trailer (when I was out with the rest of Pink Bonnet, watching Forbidden Kingdom for the second time), and I realized... It seems they found a way to make it awesome... Especially due to Robert Downey Jr's absolutely AWESOME performance.
So I was so in love with the movie, and I actually feel like it's the best Marvel flick yet. Which is really funny... Because, like I said, Iron Man was so BLAH for me before. I had no idea that Tony Stark could be so interesting :P But they probably decided to play it up.
No regrets for this one...!!
And as for Speed Racer, which I saw today:
Funny thing... Speed Racer is yet another movie I wasn't too excited to watch. Because when I first saw the trailer, I thought, "What...? What the HELL are they thinking?!"
For some reason, I actually thought that I hated Speed Racer...
And then, I saw the trailer again... I saw John Goodman actually looked like Pops. Susan Sarandon actually looked like his mom. EMILE HERSCH LOOKED LIKE SPEED. And I saw the Mach 5, and the different BUTTONS... and I saw RACER X...!!! And... I realized...
I actually used to LOVE Speed Racer...
Because I remembered that the version I used to watch was a NEWER version which got cut, and Cartoon Network then started showing the 70's version... @_@ And that I had only stopped watching because of the REALLY bad dub, and the fact that I really hated the way Speed looked.
So today I watched... and was worried sick through the entire first segment because it was so... UGH... I wanted to fast forward through everything, especially during the parts where everything seemed like it was doped up on drugs. And there was too much talking about parts that I thought weren't really needed.
But then the races started... the good races... And I was really really happy... My sister and I were cheering through most of it, hahahahaha!!
OH MY GOD RACER X *DIES OF LOVE* He's exactly correct. I loved it I loved it I loved it...! (YES I was a HUGE fan of Racer X in the anime... @_@)
I was warned to turn off my brain for the movie... I replied, "I figured that... It's based on Speed Racer. I never expected for it to have much of a plot."
So for this one... If you cut out the first forty or so minutes and start it from the part where Rain first shows up (Taejo Togokhan, in the movie), I also have no regrets about this one XD
Two movies where when I first found out about them, I said, "WHAT?! WHY?!"
And both movies I came out of, grinning like an idiot XD Actually Speed Racer still has me grinning... Siguro sobrang mababaw talaga ako... hahahah!!
