Sick Leave

I tried playing about three games from my unfinished games archive yesterday. And stopped all three...

1) SIV - Hadn't been able to get a proper opinion on this game until I had to stop it. Because it hanged before (Game Time Recorded: 6 hours). Decided to try my luck. I loaded the latest game I had. When I ran into the spot where the cutscene was supposed to begin, my PS started making insane sounds that much sounded like it was cackling "HAHAHA I'm eating your CD ALIVE!!" Forget that CD's aren't supposed to be alive to begin with.

2) WA3 - I love this game. I mean, I was initially annoyed by the art (I think it wouldn't have been so bad if they'd just erased those outlines) but man, gameplay overrules it. And characters. And I got used to the art eventually anyway. But I fell victim to one of the game's pitfalls: I went puzzling for a while, and when I stopped... I completely forgot what I was supposed to be doing, and no matter how much I explored, I couldn't remember for the life of me. So I decided to start again from the beginning. But I had to stop this as well. I think the CD's just really old, or my lens is dirty, because it kept skipping. The music skipped, the models loaded late during fights, and special effects and lighting just made the whole thing hiccup to the point of utter frustration. I finally gave up in Jet's prologue, because Baking Breath in the boss fight caused a full minute of standstill, and even deleted the command I'd stored for poor Jet.

3) WA:ACF - I love this game. Take the WA1 story, the WA3 gameplay and improve the art (hahaha!) . Unfortunately, it hanged... after a boss fight, followed by one of those "escape in the alotted time!" moments. Game Time Recorded: 15 hours. I decided to try again yesterday, just to see if I could finally get past that part. ... I failed T_T Maybe I should see if I could get past that segment on someone else's PS2. But I wanna start again anyway because I've completely forgotten what's been happening up to that point.

Thus, I ended up playing in the end:
4) Legaia Dual Saga - I will always love the fighting style of this game. In fact, I absolutely adore Maya, merely because I love watching her in fights. Unfortunately, I also had to pause this because my sister arrived home, saw me playing and asked "Does it still fight the same way?" ... She loved the fighting style too, so now I have 'contract' with her that we're playing together. So I had to stop :P And before I was able to use Maya properly already *sniff*

Is there anyone that I can borrow the games from instead? Because these games just aren't in shops anymore..

And also... do those Lens Cleaner CD's work on a PS2? Or should I really bring it to a shop?

In other news, I'm finally back at work! ... Because I was guilty. And it's a good thing too, apparently for more than 2 days sick leave, I need a medical certificate haha. The airconditioning is worrying me though, I'm starting to think like I might relapse. I probably won't, it's just paranoia. Well, at least it's already weekend if I do.

gaming, sickness
