New Bleach chapter out (and yes, it's 3 a.m., shhhh.)
Uh.
So the first part, at least, was illuminating - Ichigo's bankai can't be remade like it was before. So what's going to happen to it? Kubo really goes into detail here, stating how Byakuya permanently altered Renji's bankai and Ikkaku's bankai is weaker than before. So the question of the consequences for Ichigo's bankai, at least, seems interesting. And lulz at Mayuri not giving a damn about Ikkaku's bankai secret.
Then there's a weirdly abrupt comic interlude with Kon, of all people. Which...I don't know. I'm happy to see Kon, but it felt strangely out of place.
And then, uh, the Zero Squad, for whom I have been waiting forever. There're five of 'em. And, uh. Well? ...I don't know what to say. They're not what I expected in my head. One of them looks like the love child of Gantebainne and Love. They look more....comic than I expected, for the most part. I...I just don't know. This is one of those moments where I'm not sure if my own sleeplessness has rendered my judgment void, or if Bleach has completely jumped the shark.
So...yes. A chapter that left me with a giant question mark, tonally and plot-wise.
