Honestly Rii? I've no idea how to feel about this myself... :/ Senbonzakura disappearing turned my insides into stone, but like you I still have hope because until I see him take his last breath, I'm not going to believe it. Not again after Gin, this brings back too many memories Y_Y Remember Gin wasn't a main character either, and he got color page and somewhat passable closure. And as long as there's Inoue, there's always hope I suppose. Ichigo woldn't let Byakuya just... die.
As for the rest of the chapter... I'm used to shonen manga doing this sort of thing, you know. The main character dies, then deus ex machina and voila, he's alive again and gets some new powers... which is pretty much what's been happening through the whole series, and I don't mind, because it MADE sense. Until now. It just seems so... unrealistic. If Masaki was a quincy, why wouldn't she try to kill the grand fisher? True Ichigo doesn't remember much, but I think he wouldn't forget his mother raining arrows on a hollow... right? And wouldn't his own powers manifest somehow? If he's half quincy and half shinigami, surely he wouldn't be neither and someone must have realized this? That something is off...
Shinigami, quincy AND a hollow... it just seems too much. Way too overpowered. I'd say he picked some things up along the way, we don't know what happened while Juha was slaughtering SS...
Other than that I am as confused as you are, and really believe this is not the direction Kubo-sensei is taking us. Because if it is... It would be very disappointing.
For now, let's just have faith and hope it all turns out for the better, okay? :)
There's Unohana, too, somewhere. I think. There's definitely hope and I honestly refuse to believe nii-sama will go out like this, but if he doesn't, Kubo's going to get accused of some major trolling here (and probably rightfully so).
Well, I'm operating under the assumption maybe Masaki lost her powers or somesuch - remember, Isshin's probably stuck in the human world for a reason. There's a whole TBTP 2 arc we know nothing about, which I'm assuming is the backstory for this whole mess.
I have to have faith or Bleach would be unbearable atm. Fingers crossed.
