While I hope Kenpachi isn't dead, he doesn't tug at my heartstrings as much as Byakuya, so I guess I won't actually mind so much if he really is. I do agree with you that there's definitely a death upcoming, since it doesn't seem like Squad Zero needs to appear (as Kubo said) if everything can be settled so easily by Yama-jii.
I'm definitely looking forward to background information on this and the SS-Quincy interaction prior to this. Not too sure if Yama-jii's actually pissed enough to use his bankai and endure the consequences.
If anyone dies in the near future, it's going to be Yama-jii. I'm willing to bet money on that. Soutaichou goes down, hell all over Seireitei and then Ichigo manages to get out of that cage somehow. Or Zero Squad comes out of the shadows.
I like your idea about the 'potentials.' If we think about it, those who Aizen too considered to be potentially dangerous to his plan were taken out first or about to be taken out: Renji, Rukia, Byakuya, Kira, Shuuhei...it fits. Now I wonder :D

Yep, me too, which makes this chapter a sort of horrible troll on Kubo's part. "Get together and fight, gang! *dead*" Kubo said Zero Squad would show up, but I'd be just as happy if Ichigo unleashed hell all over the place.
And oh yeah, I hadn't thought of the Aizen angle. It makes me feel better about them all being so hurt, too. >>; I'm dying for some nii-sama confirmation, but the fact that we haven't gotten it actually makes me more hopeful.
Backstory is definitely needed. Though we might not get that until Uryuu shows up, maybe? Where the hell is Uryuu?
Thanks for keeping us all in the loop. I'll have to catch up on the last two chapters; currently I fear going there, because I'll take any distraction over getting some words down on the page. I mean, I do write, but it SUCKS. Three stories in progress, and all of them drivel.
we finally get to see shinigami taking charge! i'm pleased. i have a love/hate relationship with Kubo's way of giving the enemy such an ample upper-hand at the beginning that they can run off at the mouth while the good guys have nothing good to show for. i suppose i fall in love with Bleach all over again at the end of each arc because the good guys get a well hard-fought W in return. i'm loving the turns and twists the arc is taking! it's making me wish Bleach wasn't ending at all

I am actually hopeful for Byakuya, and Ken-chan too. ...I don't think Yama-jii will make it out, and I kind of hate that too since he's become so badass; on the bright side, though, he's giving them a fight to remember. I think we might be seeing as much as we'll see of the Vaizard for a while, but I expect to see an Espada of some kind WHENEVER WE GET BACK TO HM WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG.
Kubo promised in an interview Unohana would fight, though I'm curious as to whether her bankai is offensive in nature or has healing capabilities. I'm dying for some backstory too!
i'm hoping we get to see either Grimmjow or Ulquiorra. personally, i think since the arc has been kind of dark so far, getting Grimmjow back would work as a 'comedic' relief of sorts. Grimm is just such a f-ing badass, so merciless with his power, it just makes it fun to read. he wasn't particularly loyal to Aizen which makes me believe he won't entirely sellout to the shinigami either. Grimm was just his own so i think the only way he would get involved at all is if there was something in it for him too. we know he could give a shit less about Aizen, not sure about whether HM blows up in pieces or gets restored (i assume he was just getting by on his own in HM before the invasion.) so i don't know what could attract his attention enough that he could fight on SS's side, except Ichigo and getting to fight him again?
Mayuri freaks me out! i don't think i even want to know :s
Damn, I've never seen Yama-jii this furious... *shivers* But it looks like his getting pissed works as a rally cry for the shinigami... few quincys had a pause there like: "You were about to die a moment ago..." :) Can't say I don't like the tide turning.
But LIKE HELL they're taking Kenpachi! He's been beaten to a pulp before, he's gotta make it!
And Ichigo's missing all the fun still... if he ever gets to SS, I bet anything Hirako-taichou will be at the head of the welcoming committee... and I CAN'T WAIT to hear that! ;)

In my headcanon, Yama-jii's bankai is so badass that it incinerates everything, including Yama-jii.
And I really want a TBTP2 arc, but I want the identity of the mysterious swordsman first!
