Fun times at tech....

Yesterday was a momentous occasion, a Hokie tradition….Ring Premiere and the unveiling of our class ring. It was super fun time with the Highty Tighties and Juxtaposition performing and Coach Greenburg (basketball coach) our class sponsor giving an entertaining speech, and oooooo….fireworks. Along with my super cool class of 2007 t-shirt I ordered my ring which is awesome the stuff on the university and class side our things you remember about Tech. The ring design looks like this:
The rings are then given out at the ring dance which is the huge two day event for juniors and the rings our handed out and its tons of fun the theme for our ring dance is “Night on the Water” and should be a lot of fun. I am very excited to get my ring. It is time to trade in the high school ring.
Another exciting thing that is happening this weekend I am competing in my first intercollegiate event, the equestrian team is hosting the IHSA horse show and I am competing at it which I am nervous and excited about. The only down side is I have to be at the barn on Saturday at 5am to school the horses cause something else is going on that night and then again 5am on Saturday so I can tack up my assigned horse and get it ready for the day to show and then I get to be the holder of said horse for the morning until it is my turn to compete. It should be a fun day other schools teams our coming to compete at it and it will be a grand time.
My parents, sister, DeRestas including Vinny came down for the game last weekend against Marshall it was a jolly good time we went to Five Guys which has the best burgers and fries. The game was awesome we won again which was good and we maintain our NUMBER 3 rank nationally which is stellar. Another note on football games I think I am addicted to the turkey legs they serve at the game. They are big and super yummy Cotter had me try one two weeks ago and this time people around me were eating them and could smell them and I couldn’t take it anymore and got one for myself. SO GOOD!!....I want one now!!!. Me and my sister went to see Just Like Heaven and it was cute we also watched a few movies.
Monday we had our first flag football practice it is me, my brother, his roommates Mike and Tyrique, Mike’s brother, my brothers girl friend and two other girls Lauren and Kelly. It was a lot of fun. By brother and his roommates are super dorks and gave use a series of plays which they want us to memorize to call by number to confuse the enemy. Our team name is A Salt and Battery. They think that this will strike fear in the other team. The practice consisted of pass drills then a four on four scrimmage, which evolved into who could come up with the silliest name for a play even though there really was specific play occurring.
On a sadder note my roomie, Cotter broke her leg slipping coming out of the Perilous Hokie Grill and has to have surgery so she won’t be here for the rest of the semester because she won’t be able to get around easily so it is just me and Phil…and the bunny.
