The room is smaller and barer than Mal’s, shards of glass and a broken frame gathering dust on the floor.
Sands nudges the door open further, and leaves it swinging on the hinges as he crosses the room, kicking the glass to the edges, and ducks through another door in the corner.
There comes the sound of running water, so presumably it’s the
oom

Twists her head as she hears him in the bathroom, shivers slightly.
"It's freezing in here."

The water slows, and then stops, but there is no reply.
Maybe he just didn’t hear her.

Sands’ attention is firmly on the bandage he’s wrapping around his hand as he emerges, but Mal gets a flicker of a glance, eyebrow raised, before he flips the switch on the heater.
It rattles into life. Sands tugs the bandage a little tighter and returns to the bathroom.
