Something tells me that this whole college thing is going to work out all right after all:
(via AIM)
Lauren: so, I got my books!
Matthew: yaay!
Matthew: Books are always fun.
Lauren: Aristotle, Plato, C.S. Lewis, all the good stuff
Matthew: What are the titles of the two Grecian ones?
Lauren: The Five Dialogues and...
Lauren: just introductory readings from Aristotle
Matthew: Ah, ok. Probably doing the "unexamined life/unlived life" dichotomy.
Lauren: I dunno, a lot of highlighting (it's used) in Nicomachean ethics, same deal?
Matthew: Yeah, that's the secondary steps. It'll be interesting what your prof plays with it-- Plato says, "Life is really important to think about", and Aristotle says, "No one cares about what you don't care about."
Matthew: In essence, Plato defines psychoanalysis, the "imagined response" to poetry, the analytic approach, the scientific method and so forth... and Aristotle defines marketing.
Lauren: huh
Lauren: ummm, where's the tr4pz0r?
Matthew: Base of the Big Mountains.
Lauren: right.
[For those of you who don't get the humor of this, just go ahead and start up an account at
Kingdom of Loathing, and you'll get it, after a few days of adventuring.]
