Once more at work, plodding along merrily. Being able to cope with more or less any problem in an office is a very good feeling-- overeducation serves! It also helps that I'm not afraid to say, "I don't know" or "I don't know how" to my boss, who says, "Ok, we'll find out how or who."

So, I demanded that, now that I was a graduate, she double my salary. She heartily agreed, and turned around and offered triple, no, quadruple, nay, quintuple my current pay!

After a good laugh, she told me she really really does want to get these grants so she can pay me, because she doesn't want to lose me. Which was comforting, because I tell you, I really like this job: it perfectly suits my comfort level, and teaches me more than sitting in classes. Maria really has taken me under her wing. It's awesome.

So last night was Dan's official birthday, making him legal, which he celebrated with a flute of Chablis. So to commemorate the occasion, we got together and had a wonderful round of Dictator Tennis. Yep. With the power of the Wii, we have recreated Hitler, Stalin, Castro, Saddam, and Mao to play tennis. What's next? Why, the Heros version: Ghandi, Jesus, Mohammed, Moses, and Chuck Norris.

...what?

I really do wish I could make it to the DHS production tonight, "Arsenic and Old Lace", because Lauren's Drama Club president, and I'm her boyfriend and all... but I'm kinda in the middle of my career here, and my free time was eaten up by a lot of waiting around, this week. But I am sending flowers. =3

What else... Well, graduation was amazing. For the kind of college it is, I was surprised at how well done and professional the ceremony was. It still amazes me how awesome Mary, our DMP chair, is. We're such a personal, build-your-own major, and Mary helps guide us all individually, she knows all of us. So when she was handing us our diplomas, she gave all 9 of us a hug, on stage, as we tried not to bawl.

So here I am, a man with a diploma and a stack of travel essays to guide me. Karen, I'm still afraid to knock. But I'm sure I'll get around to it. Soon enough.

EDIT: And my father is a most amazing and excellent man for handing out rides like they were going out of style.
