Writer's Block: Pros and Cons
Yes.
Seriously, this isn't an either/or question. For the most part, I strongly believe that technology has seriously enhanced life as we know it - as a student of history, I know quite well that most life back in the day was short, brutal and ugly - but I will not contest the point that, in some ways, technology has made things more difficult now.
Overall, though, I'm going to have to go with "benefited."
