Well, I ended up getting connected to animal control about the possom. I called after I had tipped over the trashcan and beat the sides of the trashcan with a broom handle (the possom just refused to leave) and it started to drool a lot. They were going to come out and shoot the thing, luckily though, it left the trashcan about fifteen minutes after I called, before they arrived ^_^ So now..it's back out there...somewhere o.O
A sad thing happened today. A cashier who worked in the mornings, one of those that usually relieved me in the morning is ill. She's a kind old woman, the kind who would do anything to help you out. Well, I had noticed that she had stopped coming into work several weeks ago, but I never questioned it, as it wasn't any of my business. Eventually I heard rumors about how she was in intensive care and then that she was in a mental ward. Knowing walmart rumor, I was like "yeah, whatever". Well, last night she paid walmart a visit and I realized that the rumor was true.
When I saw her, I was quite surprised. She smiled and hugged me, telling me that she was sick but not really that sick, just enough to take time off. She wouldn't specify what exactly was wrong with her. She then, showed me her purse, which strangely enough was a walmart bag. She told me that if I found it that I should hold it for her, because it was hers. She then told me what her name was, which was the big signal that told me something was definately different in the mind. I would have never thought she'd have mental instabilities but apparently she does. Everyone else seemed somewhat humured by her actions. She told our manager that he was a redneck peckerwood. Luckily he knew she was ill. When she was about to leave, she hugged me again, told me that she hated me (in a joking fashion I think) and then told me that I was one of the hardest workers she'd seen. She then went into this story about her lazy son and how much she hated him..she almost cried. It was sad to me. She's such a nice person and she's going through such a rough time. I told her she was a strong person and that I knew she'd get through it. She smiled and left.
I feel sorry for her, because of what she's going through and because she visited walmart. Now, everyone she's talked too, will go and talk to others and when she does get well and come back, she won't understand that everyone who is smiling and being nice to her, secretly thinks she's just another loon.
