Hellboy is the portrait of a famed half-human, half-demon man who was fated either to bring darkness about or the salvation of mankind in his fight against the Dark Arts as one of the best Aurors in the world: in the end he sacrificed himself to save humanity. Gifted with raw power if not much scholastic talent, his only picture has been appropriated to being the portrait of Griffindor, and the painting has proved to be remarkably fire resistant.
His old lover, Mia Fey was once a ally of the Illapazao family, an old pureblood family with ties to the Dark Arts, but Hellboy showed her the True Way Of Shonen Retard, and she was convinced to switch sides. When he died, she retired to Hogwarts and became the Griffyndor ghost upon death. And that was it, until the recent appearance of one descendant of Illapalazo with an uncanny similarity to the theoretically dead man put things back into question. Is he merely a descendant? Or is it the same man? Whichever the case, Hellboy is most unhappy at this turn of events.
He enjoys conversation with students from all houses, ghosts and professors, and has also been known to trade stories of his lengthy Auror carrier or hints for homework for small favors (like throwing things at Professor Wright when his back is turned).
