Valentine's Day Brunch with Thespians
Originally uploaded by riggeronfire It was a glorious day - started it off with a nice late wake up, i.e. the 9 am-ish, since Zak and I went home like a married couple early. It was such a delicious lazy morning, a little extra sleep, and evaluation of laundry and no hangover. How perfect! Got up, popped into a hot shower and was out the door to Sunset Park, where I oddly feel in love with the accessibility of the space - the neighborhood wasn't as happening as I'd like. Still, a lovely time - met up with Kim around one, waited for the queue, "Cometh to the 'mart." Picked up essentials for delicious foods. Kim and I wandered to the local fruit vendor with great results for our fruit salad confection and bloody mary recipe parts. John ran the show as head chef, and I, his sous chef. Brooke was our fabulous bartender and Bridget made the most amazing quiche. We made ourselves quite the feast and watched the L Word, with witty remarks. I think John is officially getting to bromance stage, especially illustrated by our one hour discussion on the discourse of queering gender and his queer identity, though, he didn't make much sense due to his drunken state. Bridget ran off to a booty call as Brooke kept mocking the L Word at Kim's giggles. Kim even managed to say some pretty ridiculous things and Brooke gave me even more recommendations to load my Netflix queue (black humor galore = amazing). Juren showed up for a bit, and told us of his failures in recent dating, all of which cracked me uppppp. And then I was on the 2 AM train back to Bed-Stuy. Seriously, the time just melted - I love days like that. I came home to Zak and Orlando snuggling drunkenly, and it felt so good to be home. What a low-key, cheap weekend. What a fabulous Valentine's Day!

friends, love
