The Prop H8 protest was today - met up with Zak and Equality Force on the Hill, and it was great to see him, but we were both kind of distracted the chanting, singing, etc. I was really impressed with how many people had actually showed, up - it was pretty impressive. So many people flooded the streets of the national Mall, and so many people had shown their support for the cause, through the rain, through the puddles, through their anger. It was truly a great place to be and to harness the energy that so many people were dealing with the unfortunate situations of what Prop 8 created. Just a great time to be around, which such optimism. It was good to see
evil_laugher (and have awesome sushi afterward - delicious) come along and support as well, and we carried our umbrellas, and I screamed my heart out. It felt so good to be public, out and fighting. There was such support for trans-rights as well, which I was so surprised about, considering that the HRC dominates DC and the local media. I was just impressed, and it was pretty fabulous to be a big queer in the city for a couple of hours.
