quite frankly, i don't know how i feel about tim russert dying, or anyone dying recently, including george carlin. mind you, death has been on my mind recently as it truly affects us all in different ways. some of us commemorate, some of us react in angst, others never really move on and will pretend to have closure for the sake of their friends and family. but there is some truth the the dilemma we all have to deal with, what comes after death? not in the questionable afterlife, but actually, what happens after we die? do we have understanding of what happens? i suppose what has given me more insight on this is
tom brokaw taking over meet the press, a role that classically belonged to tim russert for years, and now, being handed off to a now retired, former anchor of nbc nightly news, with a stoic glance and an eyebrow etiquette jesterly mocked by ron burgundy in anchor man. it just seems so wrong, not necessarily with the absentee of tim russert, though he will be missed, but the presence that tom brokaw just seems off. he seems like a one man show, rather than responsible for the facilitation of political big shots from varying ideologies. i wonder if the man has the strength, and i wonder if someone from the aging mclaughlin group, or someone from msnbc should take over. as long as katie couric doesn't try to take the show, then i think the more permanent person after brokaw will do for now.
in other news, i think i might make develop a political blog. i know that there are a ridiculous amount, but the daily newspapers that i'm being sent into my inbox, i think there deserves some "democratic process." progress? who knows. unfortunately, too much of political news is being focused on the election.
