Time for Sel'm.

May 06, 2007 15:01

This band was formally introduced to me by crystal-talbo. She told me how much girü reminds her of Sel'm, whom she loves so much. I'm a girü fan, so I thought I'd try this Sel'm out. She gave me a link to resistance, then the recent release of Sel'm. I have to say, I really liked it. Their latest so far is ロイド, released on April 4, and their 2007 Live Tour the pursuit of pleasure concludes(?) on May 26.

Well yeah, Sel'm's music does remind me a bit of girü, but they're still different. Their music is hard with guitars and drums, but I find Sel'm stronger in the vocals. Tora has undeniably a very beautiful voice. You'll hear a lot of growling from Tora but his normal singing lines are wow.

I have a strong inclination towards vocalists nowadays. Tsutomu is my perfect example XD Talking about Sel'm and I still manage to mention him XD XD

These guys started in 2004 and their first cd was DEVASTATION, a minidisc distributed in a live. I'm still looking for a rip of this one, although this song was included in the resistance minialbum. Probably re-mastered. By the way, you can visit their Discography for some audio samples. And don't forget their Live Photo page for live pics.

The usual, listen to the band yourself than trust my description. I uploaded a fave Sel'm song:
嘲笑の月 (Choushou no tsuki), track 3 from アンソロジー (Anthology)
Original file uploaded in JPopMusic Forums Sel'm thread.

Feel free to correct any wrong info that I may have put in here. My poor Japanese and all.

Next bands to talk about: v (neu) formerly HeaRt, D'espairsRay, サデイ

Off-topic... while typing this, I'm partly peeking at deadman's 0605231830 DVD rip (courtesy of lacrima_e) and they sound so gooooood. aie's the coolness ♥♥ ^^~ And I still miss Takamasa even if I'm perfectly comfortable with Kazuya in the band. I'm so much looking forward to aie and his work in the studs!

. sharing, jrock bands, sel'm
