Trust me, as someone who didn't have a roommate, it's wonderful. You have privacy, and a quiet place to study and work and more ;) but meanwhile, you have the option of hanging out with tons of peeps outside your door. Also, chances are that, if early on it's discovered this person won't be rooming with you, they'll probably fill that spot with someone else, so i wouldn't necessarily count on not having a roomie
