Justin, if you had a beef with someone and asked a sincere question, would you be happy if you were treated that way by "authorities"? Step back for a moment and view this incident as a data point on our society's growing trendline toward fascist authoritarianism. This isn't about one person and it's not about what we think of him, it's about the response that non-mainstream, out-of-the-box, "radical" thinking provokes these days.
True, he may have been over-the-top in the way he chose to frame his argument, and true, that is definitely not the best way to promote an open and free exchange of ideas. I simply think that the University police response was also over-the-top and misguided; why not simply shackle him and remove him? Were they so drunk with power that they decided they must make a public example of him and stun him with a taser
