I:
- cleaned up my office at work (finally);
- got a refund on the boston museum of science tickets to see the body worlds show... we'll just have to find a time to go to boston before it ends in january;
- made an appointment with my audiologist to get an audio input cord and try a bluetooth audio input dongle (i'm going to have a dongle on my hearing aid... woot!);
- got nana36921's sim card shipped so she can have a cell phone (did i mention, t-mobile's customer service is the best?);
- interviewed with the station manager at wrfr: i have a radio show scheduled to start in january (i just have to get rid of this cough first): Live and Direct, 6pm, Wednesday nights... more info here as i know it;
- and thusly, contacted dennis mckenna (!) (brother and collaborator of the late terence mckenna) to request permission to broadcast terence's lectures and recordings of him speaking on the radio. we had a long, intelligent, two-way conversation in which i, surprisingly, did not go all otaku fanboy on him and uncontrollably blurt "OMG you and terence are soooo cooooooool and i've always wanted to talk to you!" so, that's good. you know, restraint and all... instead, i talked to him about his research and his and terence's experiences and the social implications of them. i even managed to bring up ormus stuff without sounding like a complete nutcase, and make the case that it could plausibly even be related to endogenous neurotransmitting effects of dmt that he studied. he kindly gave me terence's children's contact info so i could email them to ask if i could uh, broadcast their dead father's lectures on the radio. yeah, that'll be a dicey email...
so, one target of my radio show (almost) locked down. now to ferret out information on the current owner of the eclectic viewpoint and david hudson's past lectures. wish me luck!
(i still can't type a shift-j on this powerbook. funky.)
oh, and like
a day almost a year ago, today is also a good day because
abigail_m finished a fruitcake (thank you robin for seeing it, you rock!)
