I suggest, if you are thinking about getting a new machine
getting a refurb from Tigerdirect.com
They recertify them and everything and
you can actually take your old hard drive and network it into your new computer
using a 'slave' cable (usually a computer can have two harddrives installed at a time, a C and a D drive)
that is what i did when i went from Windows 95 to XP a few years ago--
then i slowly transfered my old files onto the new system from the old drive.
I would recommend too getting a large external harddrive and keeping data that you'd want to transfer between systems on that instead of relying on upgrading old hardware
having traded computers and upgrades as many times as i have, i tell ya, it is a lot easier to keep track of and not loose files that way, as if your computer crashes you may loose everything whereas if it is all backed up on an external drive, you won't.

Good Luck, i wish i still had computer towers to dispense hardware from;
tho you may want to ask Aaron (Lauren's BF) about it when you see him at Heirs, he may be able to advise/help you out.

See you maybe wednesday, Good Luck!!!

-Em
