More Ergo Proxy fan art. I really dig this show and I love Re-l's character/costume design. Even if I take a few liberties with it.

Under a cut not because it's not worksafe (it is) but because it's kinda big. )

ergo proxy, fan art

Is it on Adult Swim, or where are you watching it at?

Mike introduced me to the fansubs about a year ago and I downloaded episodes 1-15 before it got picked up for American release, and now I have the first 2 DVDs.

Sadly Adult Swim is not showing it. And they need to. It's a good show and they need to gut a large chunk out of their "comedy" shows. Is it just me or have Adult Swim's original shows just gone to crap?

Also I need to get you flight info for next week. I've got the times but that's it.

Good thing I asked... (this was my #1 choice for b-day gifts). So... what other stuff would you be interested in?

And yeah, I haven't noticed since I've been going to bed between 10-11 each night so I don't even watch any of adult swim anymore. So I have no clue what's on it anymore.

I'll get you the info. Still pondering if I should try to change to a non-stop flight on the way down...but then that would put me there really early or really late...(just slightly nervous that my layover won't be long enough if the flight is delayed.)

Wow, this is really different from your normal stuff. Very sensual too.

Thanks...I wouldn't really say it's diffrent from my normal stuff, (although it is certainly much different from the cartoony illustrative style used in AtA, so I know what you mean and I'm not arguing that point) but whenever I do fan art I typically revert to my heavely image-comics-influenced style of drawing.

Ergo Proxy
Bleach
Zoro
Kakashi
Even my Little Firecracker...

I think that's part of why my other webcomic idea "The Revenant" won't let go. because I'd be doing that as an American style comic book, which is really what I cut my artistic teeth on. And the longer i simply do the cartoony stuff the more I frear I'm going to lose my realistic drawing skills. I really do need to fins a life drawing class down here.

And as for the sensuality...that's something I've been conciously working on. Not sure why I wanted to start bringing more sensuality to my drawings, but I have...that't part of why I did that one Nami picture

Sorry, I'm sure that's more than you expected to get in a reply. ^_^;;

Don't apologize for the reply ^^ I think even as far as your comic-style goes, this picture is cleaner and much more deliberate (but that may be due to the lack of heavy hatching in some of the pictures). I think the generous use of solid black is really what distinguishes it-- and it shows a good deal of confidence too. That may sound strange to say, but I have trouble assigning black to an entire region like that. I'm always very hesitant and I know I'm not alone in that respect.

The shading/coloring in contrast really 'pops'. It all comes together into a great composition!

Ah, yeah, leaning to cut back on the hatching and cross hatching has been a learning prosses as seen in the example pics I showed. But going higher contrast and adding more black seemed the natural porgression for me.

I've also learned a lot from actually studying Frank Miller's art rather than just enjoying his comics.
