Hey!! Long time no talk to all of you! Have you all enjoyed your New Year's Eve & Day? No accidents and major hangovers I hope!
My resolution is up with my friends' lives, so here you go! Are you guys all doing okay? Let's catch up soon.
So... something I've wanted to post for a very long time.
bunny_alice, I actually found out we do have a Brazilian restaurant over here and I really want to go and try the stuff you recommended sometime!! Man this is way too long ago, I'm so sorry I forgot and didn't bother any earlier.
To answer your meme questions:
1. how did your passion for dance begin?
2. what was the most difficult thing in learning hebrew?
3. do you have any pics of your trip to israel? can you show me one?
4. what's a typical dutch food i should try?
5. how did you get to know NEWS?
1) It all started when I was about 9-10 years old I think? All the girls in my class did ballet at my first elementary school and I think I liked how princessy they all looked and I was all, "I want that too~!!" Plus, I was clumsy as hell, had no idea what I could do with those arms and legs and wasn't aware of my body at all. So my mother thought it'd help me, my sense of coordination and make me a bit more graceful. But sadly for me, I was also born with some issues with my feet - the muscles in my toes are very short and so I can't stretch them properly. My feet are really small, hollow and broad and that just doesn't go with the pretty little ballerina. I did jazzdance/ballet for a while after that, but quit when I went to middle school. Too busy with that and my other hobbies, plus, I used to go with two other girls and when they quit, I had no-one else, haha. It was a bit sad. Only then did I realize I'd really stuck to my own little corner, I didn't know how to talk to anyone else. I occasionally still danced to vides or watched other girls dance, but that was it. Then I hit my rebel-phase and royally hated everything that was even the littlest bit of "conformist". But about ten years ago, I stumbled upon this show on TV where a celebrity gets taught how to dance ballroom and latin by a professional. Yep, Strictly Come Dancing. At the same time, they also aired a similar show where amateurs get a shot at the spotlight. And so it all came back~ ♥
2) Remembering everything!! Lol. Especially the alphabet and Hebrew-versions of English words and names... couldn't get them unless I started talking, and even then it usually didn't hit me until the teacher said so.
3) No, I don't really have any. I took very few of them because I became ill on my holiday and didn't get the treatment I should've gotten. I... remember that mostly of my holiday. And a fallout I'd rather not talk too much about, it'll be just me dumping crap on you. I admit I've thought about what to say to this question for a really long time and didn't know how far I could go. That's also why I'm so late with this.
Actually, I do have one! Just checked.
4) Haha, no, it's not all the time! And I love food, so go on and bring me the food convos ♥!! Food's good, right? Hmm... I love panne(n)koeken (=pancakes, we have our own version of it. Very thin but sweeeeet~) You can put anything you like on top of it, I think I've seen the weirdest combos ever and people still order them!
I have an old pic of one at a restaurant:
5) J-drama "15 no Sai Blues" three years ago. I was on holiday and bored, so I browsed through a list of dramas that looked interesting. At that time, I was still very much into RPG'ing and always looking for actors to portray my characters (you always needed to add a pic for them) and I noticed this one had a cute but average-looking 17-year-old guy as the lead. I watched it thinking, "I can use him for [insert RPG here], he's the right age and doesn't look all Hollywood glammed up." Then the drama started and the story really sucked me in. Hilarious, but in this drama Tegoshi is mostly just yelling his lungs out and I was all, "... whoa!" Okay, it's not just that, but his character does have some awesome howling scenes. Blew me away. The acting was really raw and hit-and-miss, but I was deeply moved. I thought: 'You don't just act that'. The story and his character hit home with me, it was almost as if they'd shown my childhood/early teen years out there. And then I looked him up, saw that he was in NEWS and was all, "Oh but I know this one [Yamapi] and that one [Massu] and that one [Ryo]" in the then-list of members. And so it started. I also got Zeebra's (other main actor who did the themesong) cd and still listen to it now and then. But NEWS really got me.
I have more but it became so long I'm splitting this up. It's a lot of personal issues and I'm really opening a vent for things pent-up for years, so I don't want to overwhelm people and this way you all can just stick to the fluffier stuff in this one.
