Time is counting down and this is the last week. Our closing deadline is November 8th, just 5 days away. And we still have not heard from the underwriter yet. I am getting a bit nervous and more than a little upset with our loan guy. Yesterday he sent Kevin an e-mail that said the following:
"As for time, I have already spoken with the underwriter coordinator for this investor and they have received everything and it it is in the hands of an underwriter as I type this. If it comes back clear to close, then we will be on time but if they ask for anything else and depending on what it is then we will have to ask for an extension. Better to ask for an extension then let the buyer pay a late fee when it is not even their fault. I have seen many of these deals try to bully people into paying the fees. If they want it sold and not have to start over with marketing again for possibly 6-12 months, they can afford to wait a few extra days at no costs. Just as soon as I get word form the underwriter I Will let every one know."
Note the bolded part, great way to look out for our best interests! As it is the fees don't start until Nov 8th. So I am a bit antsy to hear back from the underwriter. Only five days during which we need to have our closing. It seems like too much pressure. And then comes the getting everything together for the next part, getting rid of our current home. I still need to do packing and get all the paperwork sent. Stresses me out just thinking about it, and then there is of course Thanksgiving and driving out East to visit Kevin's sister. I am truthfully ready for this all to be over.
