Red Venetian Courtesan - Peacock Feathers, Anyone?
Got my fingers crossed! I just sent off an e-mail to an eBay seller who is featuring peacock body feathers. Forget ostrich.
After spending a few hours browsing and brainstorming, I still couldn't find any feathers that screamed, 'Buy Me!' until I came across an auction for peacock body feathers. These aren't the long, sparsely plumed ones with the huge eyes on the end, but the softer ones with hints of iridescent gold and immature eyes starting to form on the tips.
I was enchanted with the way the colors sheen over them, instead of the generic peacock look. These have a nice curl to them, and I've never seen the colors reproduced anywhere else.
Unfortunately, the auction was for 1 to 2 inch long ones, and I want mine to be around 8 inches in length. Never fear, the seller was good enough to provide an e-mail address, and I'm hoping to hear back soon with a reasonable price.
