I actually have a theory about the memory lapses. In my time we've found a way to monitor unstable temporal patches in space by a special, extremely low level radition they give off. Trialyic radition. It's relatively harmless to humans because it doesn't quite...exist completely in our dimension, but it's a possible high enough concentrations could effect memory. It would have to be a lot of radiation though. Until it can scan for it properly, there's no way to tell
