Tea Notes: I don't know if I mentioned this, but Imperial Garden is, as far as I know, the best Chinese restaurant (yes: restaurant in that traditional sense of the word, not a fast food joint) in the area, even if they do serve broccoli instead of bok choy, which, according to my mother, is a SIN. The food is good, the staff is friendly, and their tea is AMAZING. It's a fantastic green tea with a sweetness to it that my mom attributed to jasmine (which she loves). Admittedly, it has been a little on the warm side as opposed to piping on occasion, but this is soon remedied (happily, may I add, bless the staff). So. If you like semi-authentic Chinese food, hit up Imperial Garden. OH. So, the note: I also got some Yogi Tea Chai today, and have reached a few conclusions: NEVER, EVER, EVER turn away from the milk while it's heating - it will boil and scald to spite you. Also, I hate vanilla, and therefore despise vanilla chai - it takes away from the spiciness of the drink. Alas.
So, it's my mom's birthday today, and she should be home soon (she did go to work), and she's bringing my grandpa down. This ought to be interesting. My dad and I went to KMART earlier today, in search of a Steelers sweater she saw in an advert. That was a surreal experience. KMart is apparently the dirty hick version of Target. Products litter the aisles and there is a pervading feeling of sickness. Typically, they didn't have the Steelers sweater in stock (the only teams this store gets shipped are the Raiders and the 49ers). So. Yeah. Not doing that again.
