A non-English speaking Anon told a strange story. It was rather difficult to understand however, but very interesting. So I fixed the grammatical errors and other issues. This is the edited version.
I don't know if this is the right board for this, but I want to tell a story first and then ask a question. I would be interested in your answers. I have never told anyone this story (in person) because I don't really believe in paranormal stuff. And I don't even remember any of it anyway. It was told to me by my parents.
They said that when I was little (about 3 or 4) I used to do strange things. I had a "special talent," according to them, which they couldn't really explain, but apparently for a while my parents were genuinely scared of me. Before I get into my story I should explain this a little bit.
So the first time anyone noticed me doing something strange was when I had imaginary friends. They would talk to me about my family and tell me about how they would die. My parents didn't take any of this seriously at first. But one day my grandfather found me talking to no one and asked who I was talking to. I told him that I was speaking to his two dead brothers. Now, I don't know what I said exactly but it spooked my grandfather quite a bit and after that my parents began to pay closer attention to me. According to them I saw people who weren't there and could see people who had died. I could tell them things that hadn't happened yet. There are a lot of stories about all of this, and everyone who knew me at that age has confirmed to me what my parents told me. Apparently it made me kind of a lonely kid, and I had trouble making friends.
Anyway, one day my aunt was with a friend of hers, going through a photo album, and the woman saw a picture of me. She told my aunt that I was carrying a special talent and that she needed to see me and talk to me. Eventually she got in contact with my dad and said we needed to meet with her.
Now, my dad kind of thought this lady was crazy or something, so he flat out said no, and explained that he had no money to travel even if he wanted to. The woman said that was okay because he would be receiving 1000 pesos soon (about 80 dollars at the time) and that he could use that money for traveling. She said she would be expecting us and hung up.
My dad didn't give any of that much thought until the next day. A random guy had noticed my dad's pickup truck and approached him, saying he would pay him 1000 pesos to if he would deliver some things for him to a nearby town. My dad instantly thought of the lady from the day before and asked where he would be delivering to. The stranger gave him the address, and it was the town right next to where the lady asked him to come.
My dad apparently took this as a sign, and he told my mom and me that we would be taking a trip. Before long we were arriving at the woman's house, and she was waiting for us with two other women. Upon first meeting them, my father asked if this was going to cost us any money. The woman told my father, "No. It would not be right for me to gain anything from this."
They took us into a room with a lot of lit candles. The windows were entirely blacked out, so these candles were the only source of dim light. Then, my parents said, the women held a seance. Everything was quiet, and the woman entered a trance, eyes half open, so you could only see the white parts of her eyes. She started to speak, and soon her voice began to change. My parents say she became possessed by the spirit of one of the people that I used to talk to.
This happened for a long time. One woman would get possessed and then another. First by the spirit of my grandfather's dead brothers, and then the ghost of some woman who apparently inhabited one of the houses we used to live in. There were a few others, but my parents told me about one strange one in particular.
The candles seemed to get "excited" and glow brighter. The room was brightly lit and the main lady (the one who contacted my dad) began to "transform," my parents said. She leaned over very close to me and asked, "Do you know who I am?"
This next part is probably the worst part of the story, because it sounds like a fairy tale. When my mother first told me I actually laughed out loud because it seemed so stupid, but this is what my parents say happened.
I answered the woman, "Yes. You are Jesus."
I heard this same story from my mother and my father, who both said that at this point they started crying. Then the woman began to "give me gifts," and I received them, but it was like two kids playing make believe. When the lady was giving me stuff, my parents didn't see anything there. Then they noticed that I was in a trance too.
My parents remember what some of the gifts were (one was a chest of coins, meaning I would be wealthy I guess). And this is the only moment that I remember from the entire experience. The woman gave me something very important, I remember. And when my father asked me what she gave me, I told him she gave me "flowers." But I remember that I was lying. The woman had given me something else, but I kept it a secret for some reason. I don't even remember what it was now, only that I lied about what I saw.
After all of these gifts, the women "closed my spiritual eyes and ears" and said I would no longer hear voices, but someday I would be able to choose whether or not I wanted to hear and see spirits again. They weren't specific about this, but just said it would be between the ages of 19 and 21.
Besides the moment where I lied about the gift, I don't remember any of this stuff. It's like a blank. So even though they have all told me these stories I'm not sure what to believe.
So that brings me to my question, which is simple. Am I crazy because I'm wondering if it might be true? I never did before, but I don't think there's any reason for my parents and grandparents to lie to me about this stuff.
I've wanted to post this for a very long time, so serious responses are appreciated.
