Thoughts from the Dharmapada

I have recently been reading the Dharmapada and reflecting.

In many ways these simple lessons point towards one line that has had me thinking for a few days since returning to Seattle from the Enchantments. It is a reminder that as your travel life there is no one place that you go to in order to find enlightenment. Rather a practice that eminates through your whole life regardless of where you are. This is the true lesson to be learned. That Shambalha is not a place that you can find on the top of a mountain, yet the state of mind that exist in a person who can see the world for what it is and find joy in the moments of experience that follow. These thoughts run through me as I look towards the travels of the PCT and the decision wheither or not to take this journey. While the hermitage would change my life, in some ways I need to change it at home first.
