Tale of Scott Williamson
There are few times that I find Backpackers Mag to have a story that
is frankly a must read. I have found it lately to be to much of a gear
fad and gear junky catalog. Yet there is a story in the May 2005 copy
of Backpackers, that goes well and beyond in telling of a backcountry
story. It isu about real life, and how people deal with the that life
through the mountains. If you have ever gone long distance hiking or
know what the PCT is. Then you MUST read this story.
Last year when I was on my "rained out" trip on the PCT for the 50
mile section I was doing, I heard stories from other thru hikers of
this man who was doing a PCT round trip. There was little known about
him or his story. Only that he had a determined look on his face on
the way back... Well, this is his story... take the time, and read
it... It is a story worth telling...
