It's amazing what a break from craziness can do. While my January trip to Africa was not necessarily calming and relaxing, it was a break from the rough-and-tumble fall semester that tested my sanity. I enjoyed a lot of fall--especially traveling for my recruitment job--but on top of everything else that was going on it ended up being highly stressful.

I'm feeling a lot better about this semester--my very last! I'm going to miss being in the academic setting, around smart people who have similar interests and concerns. I'm not going to miss having always feeling guilty because I should be reading, or writing, yadda yadda yadda. But socially I'm definitely going to miss it. This is why I'm so glad that it seems like a lot of my peers are going to be sticking around the New York area.

And I do have a couple of trips coming up to look forward to. I'm going home for a weekend in a couple of weeks, and I'm heading to Europe next month, for spring break. More specifically, I'm beginning in Berlin and finishing in Stockholm and Trondheim. I'm debating now between spending more time in Berlin (maybe with a day in Copenhagen along the train ride to Stockholm), Poland (Warsaw, maybe Krakow too although it would be rushed), or Budapest (probably the best of the three choices, but most inconvenient geographically and therefore least relaxing.) I'm accepting thoughts.

I'm also trying to decide if I want to go to Minneapolis at the end of April for the APA conference. (Hieu, are you going?) I really really want to go and see it since I have only passed the Twin Cities on the train, but if there is not a spot available at the hotel in the room Katie is offering for free (she gets it comped b/c she is our school's APA rep, but is going to stay with her folks since she's from there,) it could end up being more money that I want to spend, especially if I don't have a job lined up at the point. But I hear great things and really want to go, so we'll see...
