Horror movies and B-grade heavy metal were probably my introduction to musicianship
I wanted to become a manga artist when I was little. I joined the manga club when I was in Grade 4 and so began to draw a lot, but liked horror movies at the time so I was into things like Child’s Prey and The Evil Dead. And because of that, I only drew those sorts of pictures, like Child’s Prey’s “Chucky”. And I had a brother who was 9 years older than me that liked heavy metal and I remember things like hearing Iron Maiden doing the ending of Nightmare on Elm Street, so I also began listening to heavy metal. The band I liked the most was Poison. And after that, I liked bands like Guns N’ Roses and SKID ROW. But even though it was metal, it didn’t have a very big impact. I guess it’s like B-grade metal. But horror movies and that B-grade metal were probably my introduction to musicianship.
Next was punk? When I was in my 2nd year of middle school, one of my friends told me about the Sex Pistols and I bought their album The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle. When I listened to it, I mostly sung “Forgotten the words,” but thought “This is so cool!” and “What kind of a band is this?!” I became a punk boy after that.
As for high school, I was interested in tattoos at the time and wanted to do those designs or become a tattoo artist, so I went to school just for my art classes. I came to listen to a lot of hard core-type bands and was into things like nunchakus and crowbars. They were tied in with the tattoos. But because I also liked visual-kei, I’d started listening to X JAPAN from when I was in primary school due to my brother’s influence and liked Kuroyume and LUNA SEA in middle school. So when I watched TV with my hard core friends, even though everyone would change the channel when visual-kei came on, I would say things like “They’re horrible!” But I actually wanted to watch them. (laugh) Then on my summer holidays in my 3rd year, I was asked to join a band that had already been formed in my home town and it was a chance to wear makeup, for visual-kei. I wasn’t the vocalist at the time; I was drums, but I did things a vocalist would do. Like when a live started, I would come out on stage first and do things like I was in a play. And those are things that have been carried on to how I am now.
Ruki’s Favourite
Silver Accessories
This is a ring from my favourite brand. I really like to have skulls. That’s one thing I don’t get tired of.
Ruki’s Motto
Impossible Is Nothing
My motto is “Impossible Is Nothing.” It’s like “If you set your mind to it, you can do anything.” Gazette was something where impossible was nothing.

Uruha: Ruki’s a guy who is invaded with the illness of not being able to stop talking once he gets started. A little like a pet. And he’s been surprisingly methodical lately.
Aoi: A shrewd person? He takes everything; song writing, guitars, bass, the mic as his own. But it’s a wonder you can’t hate him.
Reita: He’s a nice guy who’s always my straight man when I’m the funny one.
[1] Makes the world go numb with his nice voice!
Kai: Someone who readily chimes in with others! Talks a lot! Expressions appear on his face instantly. Doesn’t tell lies! Values taking care of what is inside oneself.
[1] I hope this made sense. @_@ Reita means he thinks of him and Ruki as a comedy duo and Ruki is always the straight man while Reita is the funny one.

EDIT: I forgot to mention: Happy Australia Day for all you Aussies out there!! I hope it's fun and not too patriotic for you all. xD
