Kamio:*walks up to Shinji's door and anxiously rings the doorbell, still for the life of him not able to figure out why Shinji is acting so weird*
Shinji: *is in his room when he hears the doorbell ring, moping and laying on his bed* *listens as one of his sisters answer the door, hearing them say "Niisan's up in his room."*
Kamio:*thanks Shinji's sister and heads upstairs, starting out as a run, but slowing down as he goes up* ...Shinji?
Shinji: *doesn't respond, just rolls over in his bed to try and pretend he's asleep*
Kamio:*walks slowly up to Shinji's door, which is open a crack, and knocks* ...Shinji??
Shinji: *mumbles something inaudible*
Kamio:*pushes the door open a crack so he can see Shinji curled up on his bed* ...what? Shinji...
Shinji: *fails at fake sleeping but tries anyway*
Kamio:*walks into the room and shuts the door behind him* I meant it when I said I'd sit on you until you talked to me.
Shinji: *makes a small sound but still doesn't say anything*
Kamio:*sits on Shinji's bed* ... *pushes his shoulder* Shinji. Seriously. What the hell.
Shinji: *gives up the pretending and shifts to silently look up at Kamio*
Kamio:*frowns* Why won't you talk to me??? What the hell happened?
Shinji: nothing *stares blankly at Kamio*
Kamio:*hits him in the shoulder again* Then what the hell is up with you??? You're acting really weird.
Shinji: ow *grabs his shoulder and rubs it* i don't want to talk about it akira-kun
Kamio:*frowns harder* Since when do you not talk to me about stuff???
Shinji: since it has to do with this *frowns*
Kamio:With what?!?! I don't understand! What did I do???
Shinji: it's not what you did you didn't do anything *wants to say so much more but knows he really shouldn't*
Kamio:*is totally confused* *pouts a little* I don't understand.
Shinji: *closes his eyes* akira-kun i can't explain it to you it would get me into trouble and i've probably already said to much by saying that
Kamio:*really pouts* ...we tell each other everything.
Shinji: *opens an eye briefly, sees the pout and closes his eyes again* akira-kun don't do that it isn't helping things any
Kamio:*frowns again* What?
Shinji: the pouting isn't helping things any and i don't want to talk about what's bothering me because there's not anything that can be done about it
Kamio:*just sits quietly on Shinji's bed looking at his hands for a minute, trying to think of something to say but can't*
Shinji: *sighs because the silence was bad enough when it was just him in the room*
Kamio:*sighs* ...what now?
Shinji: i'm tired of the silence aside from school today i haven't had anything but silence since last night
Kamio:...then talk to me.
Shinji: i don't know what to say that won't turn out bad
Kamio:*sighs* We can't talk about anything?
Shinji: if i start talking about anything it'll probably just slip out
Kamio:*pouts again* ...so maybe I should just leave, then.
Shinji: *sighs* no i don't want you to leave akira-kun
Kamio:*turns back to look at Shinji again* Then what do you want?
Shinji: i don't really know
Kamio:...then I guess we'll just freaking sit here and be quiet, then.
Shinji: *frowns* akira-kun i don't know what you want me to say
Kamio:You want me to stay here but you don't want to talk to me. That doesn't make any sense. You never don't talk. You talk while you're eating and while you're sleeping and while you brush your teeth.

Kamio:*instinctively backs away just a little bit, frowning* ...so then...
Shinji: *sighs and leans back* sorry i didn't realize you were so close when i sat up akira-kun *frowns*
Kamio:What? *didn't even realize he was so close, it was just instinct to back away* ...whatever, it's fine. *is glad that Shinji is at least sitting up* *doesn't know what to say next*
Shinji: nevermind it doesn't matter *pauses* *decides that maybe if he just apologizes for going all weird he can get out of explaining* sorry about yesterday and earlier today and just now
Kamio:*sighs* It's fine...I just...I don't get why you won't talk to me.

Kamio:...yeah, but... *scowls* You know what I mean!
Shinji: are you still going to come over tomorrow for dinner and stuff
Kamio:...am I still invited?
Shinji: of course akira-kun i wouldn't ever uninvite you from something especially when everyone here is expecting you
Kamio:*sighs* Right. You wouldn't want your family to think I was rude or something.
Shinji: that's not what i mean and you know it akira-kun you're not the kind of person to be rude *changes the subject* i got a new cd today want to listen
Kamio:*sighs and lets Shinji change the subject* Sure. What is it?
Shinji: i got the cobra starship album because i didn't have the money for it last week when it came out but i had the money this week i haven't listened to it yet though because i picked it up on my way home from school today
Kamio:*smiles because Shinji is rambling* I haven't heard it yet.
Shinji: then we can hear it together which is the best way to hear new music with a friend *is really trying not to let other things bother him, not that they really bother him so much as bother him*
Kamio:*nods* Okay, yeah.
Shinji: *gets up, his hand accidentally brushing Kamio's thigh, and heads to the stereo to put on the cd* *turns the volume up just loud enough to really enjoy the music without pissing off his parents*
Kamio:*totally misses the thigh-brushing, and leans back against the headboard of Shinji's bed, letting himself relax just a little bit, because this is at least more normal than Shinji not talking*
Shinji: *plops back down on the bed next to Kamio and leans against the headboard, too* *listens quietly to the first song*
Kamio:*closes his eyes and taps the beat on his thigh, smiling* Great beat.
Shinji: *nods* yeah it is i really liked that song they did for snakes on a plane that had a good beat to it too kind of made me want to dance but i'm not really a good dancer so i didn't dance but i felt like it
Kamio:Yeah, that was a good song. And you're not a bad dancer.
Shinji: i don't have the sense of rhythm that you do and my movement is a bit awkward when i'm dancing so that makes me a bad dancer
Kamio:*smiles* Well don't compare yourself to me. I'm obsessed.
Shinji: *smiles slightly - first time in about 24 hours* yeah you are obsessed not that there's anything wrong with being obsessed about things when they're not harmful to you
Kamio:*smiles wider* Of course there's nothing wrong with it. And anyway, you just shouldn't care what other people think of your dancing and just have fun. Dancing is fun.
Shinji: *quietly* i'd rather watch you dance than dance myself
Kamio:*shrugs* I guess not everyone likes it as much as I do.
Shinji: we can't all be dance addicts like you akira-kun *the combination of music and the light conversation is making him feel better*
Kamio:*grins* I guess not. I kind of wish you could. So you could understand how good it feels to be in the rhythm completely. *laughs* That probably sounds weird.
Shinji: *cheeks color slightly* it doesn't sound that weird but maybe that's because it's coming from you and i know you well enough to know what you mean by it but if some random stranger told me that i'd probably just look at them funny
Kamio:Yeah. You get it. *smiles* *sighs* This is a good CD.
Shinji: yeah it is i am glad i bought it and i'm glad that i get to listen to it with you
Kamio:Yeah. I like listening to music alone a lot, but it's definitely more fun with someone else. Most things are more fun with someone else, actually.
Shinji: *nods but doesn't say anything to it, instead focusing on the music*

Shinji: *watches Kamio for a few moments before reaching for his face* *chickens out and pretends to flick away a bit of lint* you had something on your face but its gone now so don't worry about it not that it was anything that was going to hurt you i just happened to notice it was all

Shinji: i'm fine why wouldn't i be fine we're listening to good music and hanging out and everything is just great and my mom is making your favorite tonight because i told her you might be coming over and she smiled at that and said that she'd make something good for dinner and then i saw her getting the stuff together to *trails off into incoherent mumbles*
Kamio:*smiles* She is? Awesome! How'd you know I'd stay for dinner? You were like three seconds from making me leave earlier.
Shinji: when have you ever come over and not stayed for dinner and i wasn't ever going to kick you out you were the one who was threatening to leave but it doesn't matter
Kamio:Well you're the one who was acting weird. I wasn't threatening, I just thought you didn't want me here. *sighs* But anyway, Thanks. I like eating dinner here.
Shinji: *hears his mom calling up that dinner is ready* looks like it's time for dinner *moves to climb over kamio at the same time he moves to get off the bed and he winds up falling on top of kamio, his lips half landing on kamio's cheek and half on his lips* *is frozen in place*
Kamio:*also freezes, eyes wide, not sure what to do*
Shinji: *after a moment pulls away but hasn't quite moved off of Kamio yet* sorry akira-kun i didn't mean to do that i didn't think you were going to get up at the same time as i did and sorry i didn't wait to let you get up first that was kind of rude of me because you're a guest
Kamio:*still half frozen and staring at Shinji* Right. Yeah. It's fine.
Shinji: *nods then realizes he's still on top of Kamio and gets up* sorry again akira-kun let's go eat dinner and i bet in a week we'll be laughing about how silly that was just now and how clumsy i can be sometimes
Kamio:*still sort of out of it and not really processing what just happened* Yeah. Dinner.
