If you want to have weekends/holidays/nights off, get one of the millions of jobs that offer these things. Do not, repeat not work for a newspaper and spend your time bitching at the boss/whining to your colleagues about how unfair it is that you have to work on Xmas. Among other things, it irritates the living shit out of people who need to save their creative energies to write fanfic.
