A teeny-tiny Layhan (I guess???) drabble that I wrote up based on what I experienced the other day~
Yixing took one last deep breath before knocking on the door before him. He listened carefully to the muffled sound of feet shuffling and braced himself when the door opened to reveal a surprisingly cheery and young-looking face.
“Hi! You must be be Yixing! Nice to meet you, I’m Luhan!” Luhan quickly ushered Yixing into the room before Yixing could mutter back a greeting.
“Hey, guys! Our new intern is here!” Luhan’s voice echoed across the room full of boxes and scattered supplies.
Yixing turned his head to where Luhan was speaking and observed the two other boys in the room with them. One of them looked in Yixing’s direction and smiled before turning his attention back to the computer, while the other waved ‘hello’ briefly amidst a pile of various room materials.
“Don’t worry, they’re nice,” Luhan gave a small pat on Yixing’s back.
Luhan gave Yixing a quick tour of the rest of the room from where they stood, as everything could be seen in plain sight from any spot. Yixing nodded in response accordingly to all that was being said to him, filing away notes in his head all the while.
“Well that’s about all I can tell you until you start on Monday. Do you have any questions at all about anything?” Luhan looked Yixing over curiously.
“I have one question…but it’s kind of weird,” Yixing started to nervously scratch the side of his neck.
“Ask away!” Luhan replied brightly in encouragement.
Yixing observed him for a couple of seconds before finally speaking. “Are you Chinese?”
Luhan’s eyes became bright and he broke out into a fit of laughter. A big smile started to form on Yixing’s face at the reaction.
“Oh man, this is great!” Luhan clapped his hands together in joy. “Now I can badmouth those two -” he pointed in the direction of Minseok and Jongdae “-all I want and they’d be none the wiser!”
The pair across the room perked their heads up at Luhan’s ridiculous statement and jeered back, “Hey! We’re gonna make fun of you too then!”
Yixing couldn’t wait to start work next week.
