Back from the Alpes

The Alpes are amazing, in Canada we do not know skiing. It was almost dream like to be above the clouds, because that is how high the chair lifts take you. My family is really nice, and the only word to describe the way I am feeling is: Blessed.

Anyways on to some things I have noticed so far about the French and their mind set.

-In France they don't want immigrants, especially of Arab nature. They believe their head vails and long beards destroy french culture. For them, most things that are different "unfrancaises" is just not acceptable.

-I was having a conversation with the youngest child of the family that I am staying with, when he asked me if I like the United States, I replied with yes I do. He followed by asking if I agree with the War in Iraq, almost implying that me liking the United States must mean I agree with the War. I told him that though I like the people and places, it does not mean I agree with the politics of the government. He found this strange. The french are taught from an early age to dislike the U.S. And I have most certainly learned to know that they definetly do not support the War.

Anyways I leave you with this quote for today:

"Hey hey My my, Rock and Roll will never die"
- Neil Young
