First of all, here are the photos I promised of Cam's knee from this morning (please don't look if you are easily grossed out. They aren't that bad but would bother some people.)
WAY less swelling and pus! Yay!
C and I went back after work tonight to see Cam again. We let her wander the barn while we did our 3 stalls and waters. When I went outside to dump the wheelbarrow Cam followed. She couldn't go anywhere except in the 2 round pens, so I wasn't too worried. I ducked under the line to dump the wheelbarrow and Cam was just very happy to be outside moving around. She got excited and went into one of the round pens and rolled several times. She did a couple little bucks, but nothing too exciting. We let her graze and visit with Bella for a few minutes before taking her back in for the night.
Usually all it takes for me to lead Cam in is to cup my hand under her chin. It was working fine until we got back to her stall. She did just fine until it came to actually going back in the stall. She did not want to go. She ended up backing up and almost breaking a wooden fencepost. She took off cantering and bucking into the round pen. I tried not to have a heart attack. She trotted around before she would let us catch her but we got her in safe and sound. Hopefully now that she has gotten some of the P&V out she will behave a little better. I'm actually hoping to take her for a walk tomorrow if it is nice out.
I didn't get any video tonight of Cam following me around the barn. Maybe tomorrow? We will see. We might start turning Cam out in Rosey's small paddock during the day starting this weekend, as long as everything still looks okay tomorrow after today's adventure. She can roll in Rosey's paddock but can't really buck or run around much. Once we can get rid of the cotton standing wrap and just be using some gauze and vetrap, Cam will be able to go out in the round pen with the little pony. Until then though she is pretty limited.
Somehow I managed to hurt my shoulder trying to hold on to Cam when she took off earlier. Its really sore... Dad wants me to go see a doctor, but I am going to give it a few days to rest first and then see how it feels. It has done this before and sometimes it just takes a few days to tighten back up again and it is fine. In the meantime though it really hurts!
Okay, way past my bedtime. Up early tomorrow to take care of my baby.
