Bah, after only using computers for only a few decades, here I find myself wishing for a computer I might use for my own convenience. 'twas shortsighted to make good on a promise I only made due to a trick of the mind.

... ach, out of paper again. Damn.

Perhaps in what they can be used for, they are very much alike. But the same could be said of a horse and chair.

You cannot "hack" a horse or a chair. You cannot program them.

Ye can program both a computer and one of these journals, likewise one can also sit on both a horse and a chair. But whereas a computer has a versatility of multiple functions the journal lacks, so too does a chair lack the ability to move that a horse does.
