A Chosen is... well to put it bluntly, the Chosen savior of the world. If the world falls into regression and loses its mana, the Chosen goes on a journey of World Regeneration to awaken the goddess Martel and restore mana to the world.

That's what we're taught anyway. There's a few plot twists to the whole thing that aren't so nice.

Oh my, that sounds awfully important. I wonder if mana's similar to fonons... an energy source, if you will? Hmmm... Was there something wrong with your world that caused it to become that way?

Fonons? I don't know what those are, but mana is the source of life for everything in my world. Without mana, nothing lives. So yeah, I guess an energy source would be pretty accurate.

There's alot of things wrong with my world. And so far as I know I still don't know the entire picture. I kinda got pulled to the City in the middle of my journey, so I'm not sure how it all pans out.

And ah...the Chosen, we found out, are well, chosen to be Martel's vessel. I guess 'awakening the goddess' was vague enough to be acceptable. Chosen are really just sacrifices.
