It's days like this when I remember life is for learning
and enjoying.
babysat my purest little friend. had a group tour with folks from kendal retirement home- some 3,000 years old some 73 some 3. coffee shop afternoon with sadie- she likes talking of expansive lands like russia and china but we also talked about her mother who glitters craft birds. meeting with a psychology professor about double majoring and helping him research. nice guy, got me excited.
then the grand, beautiful evening! we cooked together. 6 of us- maude, ariella, krista, nick, zac. delicious kale soup, quinoa, tempeh stirfry. wine, candles, a giant pine cone. pumpkin seeds and pumpkin. guitar!! mm nothing feels quite so soothing as dancing with our voices together. the beatles were a theme. folky tunes. improv deviations. beauty! we sang rounds as we cleaned.
ah and we danced and hugged and laughed. thanked each other, said goodbye. held hands in a circle. maude and i hung out later into the night. got to know her past a bit more and the giggly present. she's a beauty. they all are. i wondered out loud why i am friends with such amazing people. can i deserve this? then i got an e-mail from a miss elisabeth a who is in asheville and healing like so many of us need to do. perhaps so many of us women? but i would say beings of all genders could stand to heal.
yes. i do deserve good, beautiful people. friends. brothers and sisters.
sometimes, i think they might be enough.
