Yeah, I almost wish there could be an automatic rolling edit for that, ha. "Automatically privatise everything older than 4-6 years! Follow the sliding scale of mortification!"
♥ Although not that you can't potter over to the IJ and creep on my nigh-daily posts anytime, ha. I could still post more RL-focused things here because I don't want to burden the writing crowd with it -- but I don't like the thought of writing into a void, and most of my friendslist seems to be gone. Fact: I once actually hit a point of just checking your journal instead of my flist, since you're the most consistent updater. :>
If only! Fortunately it just takes like two clicks, so it's still easy to do it every year.
I go check IJ about once a week, usually for your posts. Speaking of which, I'm gonna go add your tumblr RSS feed to my LJ now. ...Dude, how is "lobsterquadrill" already taken? WTF? Fine, you'll be "riddledtumblr". I am too tired and lazy to be creative right now. :P
I completely understand about not wanting to post into the void, though. Half my friends are gone, and even though the other half are still on here, they don't comment as enthusiastically as you guys did. I miss it!
Is there anywhere you post RL snippets? Emily's Twitter posts about your joint adventures (and photos of your pancakes, for instance) make me really happy, and if there's someplace where you post that kind of stuff, I want to read it! ♥
Oh my god, I get so distressed whenever ~lobsterquadrille is taken as a username elsewhere. I'm like, really? That one-off Lewis Carroll poem? WHO IS OUT THERE USING MY CUTE LITERARY REFERENCES AS THEIR USERNAME AND CAN I EITHER MURDER THEM OR MARRY THEM.
And yeah re: the void. I can use different voices / levels of intimacy or detail depending on if I'm writing privately or for a wider audience -- but I have difficulty reconciling what sort of voice I should affect for an in-between, esp. when I don't know who's even listening anymore? Figuring out audience & an appropriate venue for the RL snippets has been so hard, since Livejournal was always the place for daily RL updates, deeper emotional analysis, etc, but if no one's listening anyway, then I might as well just write about it privately and therefore go into more detail. Whilst IJ became the place I post the most often (& is the best place to suss out my RL, probably) but I try to clamp down on the RL there because some of my followers are just random acquaintances I met in a

I don't want to add to your stress/obligations/whatever! I love your big periodic RL update posts on IJ and your cool-stuff-Julie-found posts on Tumblr! I was just hoping there was someplace else that you updated more often, in a more casual, let-Chelle-creep-on-your-daily-slices-of-life kind of way, like a secret second Twitter account or something. But if there isn't, no big. While I would selfishly love to hear from you more often in any medium, in my experience, people don't stick with resolutions to post more ANYWHERE unless it fulfills some need and works with their existing habits and all that. Like, if it was a system that suited them, they'd already be using it and wouldn't have to resolve to post more, you know? Or they wouldn't have left it behind when their habits changed. And I can respect that. So you do your thang, and I'll just creep on you wherever there IS content!
THE THING IS, I would love for there to be another medium that did fit my needs, because IJ doesn't quite. I'd have been all over Twitter except that I like being able to tl;dr. hurm I will mull over this.
Okay, this feels slightly creepy, but I actually know the keywords for most of your LJ icons by heart. I was all, "Aww, she used the "julie älsk" icon! And then I had to look at myself funny. Ummmmm.
adflgøkadøflgdakljfg oh my god ilu. Also: Didn't I take that photo FOR you, way back when? So it seems oddly appropriate that you would have memorised the keyword.
DID YOU? If so, I have completely forgotten, but I'll pretend you did even if you didn't, because the thought warms my heart. (Insert recursive heart-warming here!) :D :D
It's nice to hear from you again, though!
