I love that PAD is giving some of the most hardcore fans a story we've been dying for before he signs off. You're right, who knows what Ric and Star will get in the future...but you know, it seem they're dropped for however long by Marvel, but always picked up again by writers that love them eventually. I've resigned myself to a good long wait, filled with either no sightings or crap sightings involving gay jokes, but these two have proven themselves too cool to be abandoned entirely.

(Also, I'm intrigued by the X-Force movie rumors. Probably it'll be Wolverine and Psylocke, but who knows--we might get at least a cameo or minor role, especially considering our pair specializes in violence which fits the X-Force theme).

I totally agree. But the guys who bankroll the project will want Wolvie front and center, no doubt. If we get a good backup cast, it might still be cool.

And on Star, you never know. Especially since Marvel is going into space with “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and Star is an alien; he could be used to tie things together, or just bring the cast into Mojo’s tournament rings. Hollywood loves tournament fighting movies.

Since Darwin was in X-Men First Class (being treated appallingly of course, don't get me started) I've had a wistful headcanon that Ric and 'Star would have been really fun and cool to have in a sequel if they got reinvented as bratty younger versions of their X-Factor selves, young recruits getting into fights and snarking and bromancing together. Never happen, but a fan can dream.

Wahhh, the idea of them being dropped from regular title to guest-appearance-if-you're-lucky status really gives me a downer. Having watched my last favourite comic book imprint and stable of characters die a death (WildStorm) I really don't know if I can hang in there with regular Marvel buying if Ric and 'Star get relegated to limbo. I don't even know how I'd feel about them with a different book and writer (again, bad post-WildStorm experiences, I'd far rather read old Warren Ellis stories now than watch yet another writer mishandling the Authority crew). Typical comic book fan reaction to change, I know!
