PAD has a great artist to work with for this issue, so I'm looking forward to it, no matter what he's got up his sleeve. :)
Yeah, I can understand RicStar taking a backseat for a bit. It might make for a lull in Comm activity, or we may just end up talking about X-Factor in general.
I wasn't too interested in the Arcade limited series until saw the beautiful Chris Samnee cover. It looks lovely!
I wish I could help spread to word on good comics. The only one I've ever been able to convince to buy X-Factor and Thor the Mighty Avenger is my younger brother. All my other friends are women too put off by the atmosphere of the LCS to visit it with any regularity, no matter how many times I've shoved issues of my favorite comics in their hands. They'll read them and enjoy it but they see no reason to go to the extra trouble of collecting each month. :(
Yeah, I find this comm by far the best place for general X-Factor fan discussion. CBR's full of trolls, and other forums (while often very good) just don't have the same traffic and depth of discussion; threads for the monthly issues rarely get beyond a page. I love all the enthusiasm here for the whole comic and PAD's writing, not just RicStar - though obviously the RicStar is awesome :)
Yeah, the sales numbers made me go 'ohhh' a bit - but then I saw all the other Marvel titles that are doing worse than X-Factor and still going. Hopefully Marvel get the point that, with all their Scrooge McDuck millions, they can afford one or two titles whose greatest value are their critical acclaim rather than sales figures. Hope!
Or even, they could, y'know, start releasing more digital monthlies as additional revenue. I'd love to buy X-Factor digitally and then get the hardcopies in tradepaperback.
I'm not too surprised that X-Factor numbers have gone down. When it isn't a major crossover, Marvel does nothing to promote X-Factor and tidily leaves it out of the X-Title line-up.

I'm grateful that this comm is here. I wouldn't know of any place else where it would be safe to discuss X-Factor without getting chewed out on it. :S
Yeah... I haven't read any Academy and I haven't been interested at this point, but the cover sure is pretty...
