My heart sank when I read

It's a rare thing for me to see something that genuinely makes my heart sink, and this was one of them. I read what she had to say, and I knew what they were going through. The sadness, the anger, the loss.

I only hung out with him a dozen or so times, but from what I saw he was a good kid. A good, fun-loving kid who loved life. When I read about what happened to him, I felt their pain. I was in their shoes before, not 100% exactly, but I had a similar experience.

I wish his family and friends the best, and offer this condolence: he may have passed away, but now he is free from all the evil that plagues the world; free from all the things that make people hurt. I know that grieving is hard, especially when you've lost someone close.

I hope that no one feels that this has in any way cheapened their relationship with him. I don't claim to have been his best friend, or to have known him that well to begin with. All I am saying is I feel for his loved ones, and I hope they know that he is now in a better place.
