"The Truth about FACTS......'Cause They Are Stubborn As Hell!"
The truth is, I wasn't the smartest kid in school. In fact, I found myself struggling at times in certain subjects.....especially in math. I HATED MATH! There was no other class I dreaded going to more than my high school math class. From Geometry to Algebra to Calculus, math was the one subject that I had the hardest time with and failed on a consistant basis. Now it's true that I probably could have paid more attention in math class, but honestly I just wasn't that interested in numbers. I didn't think I would ever need to use a lot of math in my lifetime, because I knew I wasn't ever going to become a doctor or a scientist. Those guys are smart......REALLY smart. They did well in math and science in school, because those are the kind of careers that require you to know your numbers and stats. They have to get those numbers and stats right every time. And they have to test out those numbers and stats over and over and over again until they can prove to everyone that what they are telling you is a proven fact. And it is supposed to be binding and non-arguementative.......and STUBBORN as all hell to disprove.....
....but then Barack Obama became the first African American President.
And facts became null and void across the country.
Ok so it may not be all his fault (even though I am sure it's become more of an issue since he became President), but why and how did this happen? Well I can sit here and go on a rant about how I feel about it, but my opinions are not proven facts, so I will not go there. But I can give you some actual facts that I found from some really smart people....called doctors and scientists:
Ok, so I haven't the slightest clue what all this really means, cause I am no good in math like I said earlier, but the scientists who came up with this chart say that its been proven to be a FACT that carbon levels in the atmosphere are rising at an extremely fast rate. These guys have been at this for decades trying to crunch the numbers over the course of time to come up with a chart that should be a wake up call to the world.
Unfortunately, there are too many stubborn people who don't believe the facts.
You can throw all the facts about Climate Change all you want at these people....they just block it completely out. They don't want to believe that this is happening because most of them have some kind of interest in the oil industry. Major funding of a lot of political campaigns come from large oil companies, such as Exxon or Chevron. All they want are politicians who will speak on their behalfs for their best interests and try to get tax breaks and loopholes to benefit them. Any facts about Climate Change that could get the general public to want to get off of oil and gas is deadly to those guys, so they pay a bunch of fake doctors and scientists, called "Climate Deniers" to go on FOX News and deny, Deny, DENY the facts.
Unfotunately, there are stubborn people who actually believe the Climate Denier facts.
Here is where I pause and give you the definition of the word FACT:
A fact (derived from the Latin factum, see below) is something that has really occurred or is actually the case. The usual test for a statement of fact is verifiability, that is, whether it can be demonstrated to correspond to experience. Standard reference works are often used to check facts. Scientific facts are verified by repeatable experiments. (source: WIKIPEDIA)
Ok so I wanted to make sure you understand what that word means, because along with the Climate Deniers, there are people who are totally clueless when it comes to Ebola......
.....quite clueless in fact.
We've had exactly ONE person in the United States who has died from contracting Ebola........ONE! There have been only TWO people who actually contracted the disease, WHILE WORKING WITH WITH THAT PERSON, who both have recovered and have been sent home........TWO! What we have on our hands is NOT an epidemic of Ebola, but an outbreak in a certain part of the world that needs to be controlled before it BECOMES an epidemic. Those brave doctors and nurses are being demonized for doing their jobs....and yeah, a few of them did contract the disease. But I am sure those guys know what they are getting into and the risks that comes with it before they treat someone with Ebola. It's rather unfortunate, however, that we have people in this country who love to do nothing more than to scare the hell out of people and not use FACTS to back up their claims.
Unfortunately, those stubborn people always find a way to stay stubborn about facts.......
........and that's a fact.
