Gen Con Report- or something...
Okay so last weekend I went down to reading for GEN CON UK. It was fun. Take a large number of nerds give them sugar and little sleep and watch the hilarity ensue.
So here is a breakdown as best as i can remember it:
Thursday:
Morning: A bit of a bust, game didn't run but i played the Illuminati card game and a dice game both of which were quite fun.
Afternoon: Cthulu with Clowns... and hobo's. those Keeper guys are scary.
Evening: Animal Farm, When you get hitlers goat, a pig who behaves like oswald mosely, some communist hens, a mafia duck, the Sheep queen, a stoner cow and a dog and a cat together hilarity ensues.
Afterwards we went off and played card games.
Friday:
Morning:played the Eye of Terror a new computer interactive card game from Wizards which works with a camera for the PS3 nice but still needs some refining. Also got a free demo of the Warcraft card game and a free deck.
Afternoon: Game i was signed up for was a bust but I got to play in a game based on Larry Niven's Known space battling the Kzinti. One of which my character strangled barehandedly.
Evening: Call of Cthulu. dockside dogs. The King in Yellow meets Mr. Yellow. Tarantino meets Lovecraft
heard some of the 4ed talk. Mixed responses. niche protection and new power sources questioned. Many not keen on the online sections, if i want an MMO i'll play an MMO.
Saturday:
Morning:Traveller.Very cool simple system though the adventure left something to be desired.
Afternoon:C J Carella's Witchcraft in the Harry dresden universe.
Evening: Camarilla larp. Which i won as best Roleplayer still not sure how.
Sunday
Morning: Played a pickup game of deadlands reloaded which was really cool. Played the Huckster and never used the dice option.
Afternoon: Five go mad in Innsmouth. With lashings of real ginger beer.
Overall very cool. bought Earthdawn and Savage worlds. Got the Minds eye theater rules for winning the Larp as well as snagging the Changling and dark heresy demo adventures.
