Well, I came back from my far too short, 4 day vacation to Chicago yesterday, and I have a list of few pros and cons of the Windy City.
Pros:
- People couldn't get much nicer. I was flabbergasted, amazed. I didn't realize people could be so nice.
- Easy to navigate (and that says something, because I have hardly any sense of direction).
- Michigan Ave (you can find nearly everything from here)
-Shedd Aquarium (so cool! even better was the owl they had out on the floor).
- Free Trollies
Cons:
-A freakin 10% sales tax. WTF
- 40 minute wait for a pizza, a small pizza. WTF (deep dish or not, who wants to wait that long)
- $14 being the least expensive for a small deep dish pizza. WTF
-Free Trollies
Perhaps not all of the cons can be directed toward Chicago, but still, who wants to wait 40 minutes for a pizza?
In the end, I really liked the city. It was nice to get away from NY for a bit, and Chicago was the place to go. It did help that our old neighbors were there to help us around, and they're eldest daughter had the cutest baby (pictures coming soon) I have ever seen. ^_^
I guess the question now if whether or not I truly want to go to school there. Adler was great, the teachers and faculty were nice. A real plus. I just really need to mull everything over. I'm still looking at other schools everywhere else. Yes, even New York. I guess only the future will tell. Either way, I'll be happy, right?
I'll update later on with more details.
