I finally figured out what I needed to do regarding validation e-mails thanks to some tips I got. THat was over a month ago.
I just got back online today after being down two weeks with another problem. We had a power outage here, and it apparently fried my wireless adapter. I have a (free) replacement now and should be good to go.
I don't have access to the DSL line upstairs, and there are no phone jacks. I have to use my computer by lying recumbent (like in a recliner) because of my back pain. If I use the computer downstairs with a regular chair, I only last about 15 minutes before I have to lie down again.
Now I have a bunch of new stories to read plus a bunch more to download (so I can make the print big enough to read without straining my eyes). I have my computer set to ignore the type size, but sometimes that makes it unreadable.
As long as I can get online for several hours a day to read stories, I do just fine. Lying in bed all day gets really boring without my fanfiction.
