As you of course know, it's much, much too easy to say "Ladies, chill out" when there's the weight of an entire society bearing down on one to conform to usually impossible standards of beauty, and of course, those standards have been created not arbitrarily but because in some way or another they will garner profit for fat, ugly, middle-aged white men who've never had to worry for a second about their looks, et cetera et cetera ad nauseum but still it persists. There are certain physical features which are appealing on a biological level, however, and big eyes are one of them, which is why eye-whites are so sexy. The more whiteness is visible, the bigger the eyes, the more baby-like one appears, the more one wants to snuggle and protect the possessor of the big white eyes. At least, that's the theory I've heard on why big eyes are so appealing. That's one of those standards that applies to men as well as women, which adds credence to the theory, for me anyway. Because if anyone's got a maternal instinct, it's women. Also, it's a common belief that women who look up at you or sideways at you are being coy, are being caught in the act of being sexual creatures but are still demure and reticent like a lady should be. The man who catches a glance like this has won; he has awoken that most supressed, stubborn, bashful beast within. It's that same Good Girl in Public Bad Girl in Bed thing that apparently every guy craves. Also, Cosmo says if you're trying to get a guy to like you to look up at him because it will subconsciously remind him of getting head. Et cetera et cetera ad nauseum but these things remain.
