I'm not going to bother with a detailed account of the past week or so. I'll just say that I'm fairly content. No particular incident is responsible for this, but it's nice to be at ease. Strangely enough, I'm feeling as if I like everyone. I've just let go of my negative reactions to people, and they'll have to earn new ones if they're so inclined. Perhaps this year I'll be out more, and I'll get some recognition. I'm counting on it. How am I so chill? I have no idea.
So the Old Gym is gone. The pros and cons are worth discussing, but not here. Our out-of-touch administration is also worthy of discussion, but again, this is not the place. Personally, I think I'll end up enjoying things more this way.
I've had some whiskey (still never tested my limits), met a bunch of new people (all of whom are most satisfactory), learned a little (and I think all of my professors are great), seen a great film: Kickboxer From Hell, gotten a little exercize, eaten some delicious Kline food, had enjoyable conversations, and generally been happy. This year I'll try to stick to these rules: Be honest, be generous, be understanding, and (one thing that's actually a change) talk more.
And if I'm lucky, I can take the arrogant folks down a peg or two. In the meantime, I'm considering wearing suspenders more. They're fucking comfortable.
