For me, today is a great day. It's a day I look forward to every year. The Cunard Liner RMS QUEEN ELIZABETH 2 has arrived in Sydney, Australia. Only being on board could be better. QE2 is docked at Circular, Quay in Sydney and there is a marvelous web camera that allows the viewer to control it and zoom in on the ship. The resolution is so clear that you can see in through the windows. This is one of the few places in the world with a web cam that give such clear views of the ship in port. It may be pathetic but, I enjoy following the ship around the world and Sydney offers the best views.
Last year, I was able to e-mail a friend who was aboard for and arranged a time for her to go out onto the bridge wing where I was able to see her live! She waved and I was able to "snap" a photo and e-mail it to her on the ship. Unfortunately, she is not on board for this year's world cruise.
Unfortunately, today it is grey and rainy in Sydney and lens is all wet. Nonetheless, it was a thrill to log into the web cam and see the QE2's brightly floodlit funnel towering above the city. She is, by far, the finest looking ship in the world and Sydney makes for a magnificent setting for her.
So, I'm not getting much work done but, well, that's nothing new.
